Sheila Rae The Brave

We have continued to make text to text connections during our morals-based literature unit called, Colourful Characters: Storybook characters teach us real life lessons.  Recently, students listened to the story, "Sheila Rae The Brave", whereby they were encouraged to make connections before, during and after the story.  To that end, students completed a bravery ribbon that told of a time when they had been brave, just like the main character, Sheila Rae.  Please come visit our ribbons which are on display in our classroom!

"I was brave when I got my new bike".  Taya

"I was brave when I used scissors."  Orian

"I was brave when I jumped off the diving board at
my swimming lessons".  Aila

"I was brave when I jumped off the diving
