GEOMETRY FUN!
As part of our studies on geometry, we’ve been learning about 2D figures. The students have really enjoyed studying the attributes of a variety of shapes. We have now completed two art projects that have integrated their visual spatial knowledge of shape and space. The first assignment was based on the story of “Grandfather Tang’s Tangrams”. Students worked with their Grade Seven buddy to reproduce a picture from the story of one of the tangram animals. The final project had students using a variety of 2D shapes (including squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, diamonds, ovals, pentagons, hexagons and octagons) to create an original picture. Here are some of their beautiful and creative works of art.
